I've been itching to tell you guys about Size Con, and I really wanted to wait until we have the place signed, but A LOT of people have been asking, so here goes.
We knew there was a huge risk doing the KickStarter, but there was an even bigger risk of renting a venue that was either too big or too small. No one has ever attempted a con around size before, so we didn't know if we'd be expecting 5 or 500 guests. It was just a big unknown! Before we even launched our KickStarter, we had a plan B in case we couldn't reach our goal, and here it is.
The con now will more or less be the same, as far as content goes. We *might* have to condense a panel or two, unless we sell more tickets from now until April so we can buy more venue rental time, which is totally possible. We have about 12 hours scheduled for the con, including the dance. We currently have a head count of slightly under 100 people attending, which as I just said, can grow, but with that number alone, we've gone ahead and found another venue. It wont be at a hotel, which is less convenient for all of you, but cheaper for us. The venue we have lined up in Manhattan right now is really close to the subway, so finding an affordable hotel (check Groupon!) that you can take the subway to should be easy. We still might also be able to offer group rates and discounts, so keep your eyes peeled for that info. We will add some assistance and travel tips on our website soon for visitors coming to NYC as well.
Luckily, all of our special guests have stayed on with us, and continue there commitment to attend NYC Size Con. So even though we might be at a smaller venue, or have to cut out some of the bells and whistles, the big reason you're coming to Size Con (guests, panels, VR demos, etc) are still intact. It's going to be an amazing con, and we really hope to offer a unique, and unforgettable experience! We realize we need to start somewhere, so if Size Con is small this year, so be it! Hopefully next year will be even bigger! >:3
For those of you who bought a ticket on KickStarter, you will notice you were not charged since the campaign failed, so you essentially do not have a ticket. You can buy a ticket here, or go to sizecon.com and click on the ticket link. For those who pledged larger amounts for the added on bonuses, we are still honoring those offers! If you have any concerns with your purchase, please contact Bryan at NycSizeCon@gmail.com
So what can you do to help Size Con be successful? Well, for one, we're relying on people who pledged originally to repurchase those tickets on our Eventbrite, and luckily many of them have, but we still wan't to get back to the number that we had on our KickStarter. So priority #1, is to get solid ticket sales ASAP. These are the real deal, baby Secondly, you can help spread the word. Now, we can sell tickets even up to the day of the event! Though the more money we get up front, the more we could use it to make this years even more awesome! We want to encourage people to make Size Con art too, and share it with NycSizeCon@gmail.com or ! We will post it up on our website and DA! And I don't just mean traditional 2D artists, if you have animations, models, photo manips, even written short stories that revolve around SizeCon somehow, please submit it to our SizeCon accounts! We'd love to see it and share it with others too!
Thanks for being patient with us, and over all being so encouraging! Don't listen to the naysayers, most of them have never even met another macro/microphile, so I can't help but laugh at their assessment of the community. I've met close to 60 in the past 8 months, and as a 20 something female, I don't at all feel threatened or awkward around anyone at our meetups. I've never had an inappropriate moment with other members, just because people have a sex drive (like most humans), doesn't mean they're going to mount someone the second they see them. Seriously people. I love my size brothers and sisters, and am so happy I can help build an event like this that can celebrate our uniqueness instead of encouraging the negative, shameful, and self-hate language I see from a loud minority in our own community no less. Size peeps are awesome, people gotta realize they can't be hating because they're scared. I only got one life to live, and I'm not going to waste it on what-ifs. It's amazing what we've accomplished in 8 months, I couldn't be prouder and be happier to be able to help serve the community in this way. <3

BITCHES BE HATIN', SIZECON IS HAPPENING!
Lots up updates!!
Firstly, I want to thank you all for all the warm well wishes, and birthday wishes as well. 💖 I'll save my personal updates for the end of the journal - for now, please enjoy these business-related updates! 🌸What to expect from Jit going forward...🌸 Finally, after late last year's layoff, my husband got a really good job here in Japan! Because of that, I want to organize my own business a bit more, as we're finally going to have a normal schedule for once. Since he worked for an American company before, we'd be up at all sorts of hours (I accompanied him of course). That means you will probably be seeing me around much more frequently! 🎉 Below will be some of the projects I'm working on or will be working on in the near future. 🌸Commissions🌸 As I mentioned in my previous journal, I am accepting $35/hourly rate commissions currently, with a minimum of 12 hours work per request (starting at $420). Because of that, most of my active customers are using me for projects, like short
Where I've been these past few months...
All of my journals pretty much start with apologies about radio silence, and this has been a big one. I'll give you the short and long version. tl;dr - I overworked - Got into a biking accident - Sergio's dad almost died (technically did die, several times), thankfully now stable - We had to emergency fly out to the US - loootsss of drama - Total disaster w/my parents (we don't have a good relationship) - commissions info I'm home now. Exhausted, but in a much better headspace. I got some info on how I'll be handling comms in the future, and that'll be towards the end, but for now, the long version (if you care to read drama). The long Version... October was nuts with work. Not only did I have my day job and commissions, but SizeCon [micro] was coming up November 10th and I had to give the entire virtual space a facelift, implement new features and so much more. If you're not aware of SizeCon [micro] here's a commercial we got explaining the concept - it's essentially a virtual

My slots are currently FULL!...they filled up in a few hours, so thank you for your support🙏Please keep an eye on this space, as I plan to open up more slots in the near future as I get closer to the bottom of the list - I'll make another posting to let you all know that I'm open again. \\ Commissions (FULL more slots soon)!!! //
Heyyyy~ You know some shits hit the fan when Jit is OPEN FOR COMMISSIONS!! Tl;dr my husband's whole office got laid off this Friday, and since he's the breadwinner, it not only complicates finances, but 10 million other things that we needed money for - like we need to fix some expensive paperwork for our visa, we've been trying to get pregnant, etc!! Thankfully we're okay at this moment, because we have been saving for all these things. I wouldn't have been worried otherwise, but the job loss came as a bit of a shock. Sergio has worked there for 7+ years, good relationship with his boss, great lead dev, always got his work done, etc. His company was all on board with him moving out to Japan and reassured him he could keep his job doing so. This arrangement only lasted a year apparently🙃 But I guess it can't be helped if they don't have money. It is what it is. I'm going to wrap up what I'm working on now for my Patreon, and I'll be putting it on hiatus after this month. Sergio
